Hi Nancy, you don’t know me but I know you. I used to be the Travel section editor of the LA Times and Colman Andrews is my ex.
Off the point…I am wrong, shamelessly. To ask you advice about Puglia. Have you been lately. My husband and I will be there in late May for two weeks. Wondering if you have advice on where to eat. Most of the info online is old (and suspect) because of the pandemic. We are in Lecce for 6 days, Ugento for 2, then Ostuni for 4. Taking diet tips constantly to towns and beaches in the Salento. I couldn’t find a new version of Gambero Rosso or L’Expresso guides, so I’m feeling helpless.
Of course, you may be sick of giving out food advice, so ignore this if you must.
    Mile Grazie,

Leslie, I’m so sorry, I just saw this post, almost a year later. I hope you had a wonderful time in Puglia and I’m sure my advice would have added a little spice, but not much. It is such a great part of Italy and still relatively unknown to most Americans. Again, apologies for missing this!
You can find me more often these days on Substack: nancyj.substack.com. I call my page “On the Kitchen Porch.”
